MD Logistics Expands Indiana Facility to Fully cGMP-Compliant Pharmaceutical Warehouse

MD Logistics LLC, a subsidiary of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, has completed the renovation of the South Area of its largest logistics base in Plainfield, Indiana, transforming the entire 37,000 m² site into a fully cGMP-compliant facility dedicated to pharmaceutical products.

To meet the rapidly growing demand for temperature-controlled, cGMP-compliant logistics facilities in the region, MD Logistics has carried out a phased upgrade of its facilities to better support the sector.

The North Area of the Plainfield site, measuring approximately 18,500 m², was refurbished in September 2024 to provide two temperature zones — a constant-temperature zone  (15º–25ºC) and a refrigerated zone (2º–8ºC) — for pharmaceutical storage.

The recently completed South Area renovation, also spanning around 18,500 m², has added a new constant-temperature zone (15º–25ºC), providing an optimal storage environment for ensuring the quality of pharmaceuticals, over-the-counter (OTC) drugs, and other health-related products.

With this upgrade, MD Logistics can now operate the entire facility as a dedicated pharmaceutical warehouse, enhancing its ability to serve both new and existing customers and meet the needs of the expanding life science and pharmaceutical industries.
