The Pharmacy Training Institute (PTI) has presented a new dimension in quality control as the ongoing pandemic is now increasing its focus on high quality operations across research and manufacturing. The sector is witnessing a shortfall of 25,000 to 30,000 quality control, quality assurance and manufacturing talent pool.

This led the training institute to introduce a comprehensive and integrated 10-day quality control programme for pharma industry professionals. The objective is to ensure that any candidate from the industry, or fresh graduates and post graduates in science and pharmacy will be able to function in a demanding environment.

The Covid-19 has now set a yardstick of quality. The pharma industry demands excellence which allows doing any task right at the first time. Our Institute views the need for adequate technical knowledge to undertake specific tasks and ensure efficiency, PTI Dean Umanandan Misra told Pharmabiz.

The Institute has been training candidates for over a decade not just from the industry but in colleges to too. This has enabled the pharma sector to have access to industry-ready candidates.

Therefore such short-term intensive programmes will provide an overall holistic educational growth and maturity of candidates providing insights on attitudes, adaptability, capability and human relations, he added.

The training, which is a week-long to a fortnight, comprises both practical and theory making the candidate adept in all systems of quality control processes. The practical aspect of the course is held at an advanced quality control laboratory of BPRL in Bengaluru and the theory is imparted at the training center of the PTI.
