Acrotech Biopharma has launched Adquey (difamilast 1 percent) ointment in the US for the topical treatment of mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis in adults and paediatric patients aged two years and older. The non-steroidal treatment is a topical phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitor.
Difamilast was discovered and developed by Otsuka Pharmaceutical and licensed to Acrotech Biopharma for commercialisation in the US. The launch marks Acrotech’s entry into the US dermatology market and expands its commercial operations into the therapeutic area.
To support the launch, Acrotech has established a dedicated dermatology business unit with capabilities across marketing, sales and field-based engagement. The unit will focus on supporting the introduction of Adquey and building infrastructure for the company’s activities in specialty dermatology.
According to IQVIA MAT data, the US market for atopic dermatitis treatments was estimated at approximately USD 1.3 billion for the 12 months ending July 2026.
Adquey is indicated for the topical treatment of mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis in adults and paediatric patients aged two years and older. The product is licensed to Acrotech Biopharma for commercialisation in the United States.
