Alkem Laboratories, through its CSR arm, has partnered with IIT Bombay to establish the Alkem Centre for Advanced Research and Development of Applied Immuno-Therapeutics & Regenerative Medicines on the institute’s campus.

The centre will focus on cutting-edge areas such as gene editing, biomaterials, and novel drug delivery systems. Alkem has pledged to contribute 20–25% of its cumulative CSR obligations over the next seven years to support the initiative.

Madhurima Singh, Chairperson of Alkem’s CSR and Sustainability Committee, stated that the collaboration aims to advance affordable therapies and reduce India’s dependence on imports. Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director of IIT Bombay, added that the partnership reflects a shared vision to develop “healthcare solutions by India, for India and the world.”
