APACMed MedTech Forum to Debut in India, Spotlighting Innovation and Healthcare Access

The APACMed MedTech Forum (MTF), Asia Pacific’s leading gathering of MedTech leaders organised by the Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association, will be held in India for the first time on 16 and 17 September in New Delhi. APACMed represents leading medical device companies from more than ten countries across the region.

Now in its 11th edition, MTF 2025 is themed “Swastha Bharat – A Healthier India, Together” and aims to position India as a global hub for MedTech innovation, manufacturing and investment. The Forum will serve as a platform for high-level dialogue on advancing India’s global MedTech competitiveness, strengthening healthcare access, and fostering policy alignment.

This marks the first time the Forum is being held outside Singapore — a milestone that highlights India’s growing role as a key driver of healthcare innovation, regulatory excellence and market access across Asia Pacific.

Harjit Gill, CEO of APACMed, said: “Bringing the MedTech Forum to India for the first time is both a proud milestone and a powerful opportunity. With its scale, innovation capacity and strong policy momentum, India is poised to become a global hub for medical technology. Our objective is to deliver tangible outcomes – from policy alignment to transformative partnerships that expand access and accelerate innovation.”

Senior Indian policymakers including Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry; Amit Agarwal, Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals; Dr Rajiv Bahl, Secretary, Department of Health Research and Director General, ICMR; B. V. R. Subrahmanyam, CEO, NITI Aayog; Dr Vinod Kumar Paul, Member, NITI Aayog; and Nivruti Rai, MD & CEO, Invest India, will participate. They will be joined by prominent international and domestic MedTech leaders, such as Tim Schmid, Worldwide Chairman of MedTech at Johnson & Johnson; Kevin Lobo, Chair and CEO of Stryker; Gary S Guthart, Executive Chair, Intuitive Surgical; Katarzyna Mazur-Hofsäß, CEO Care Enablement at Fresenius Medical Care; and Massimiliano Colella, CEO and Chairman of CMR Surgical.

The two-day conference will explore themes of health resilience, innovation and patient care, with discussions centred on global best practices, cross-border knowledge exchange and benchmarking India’s leadership in MedTech. Ahead of the main event, a Regulators Forum will be convened in Delhi, bringing together regulators from India and across the Asia Pacific region to enhance regulatory expertise.

Expert sessions during the Forum will address key issues including regulation, pricing, legal matters, ethics and compliance, artificial intelligence and health data, reinforcing the event’s role as a catalyst for strengthening MedTech ecosystems in India and beyond.
