Asahi Kasei Bioprocess, a subsidiary of Asahi Kasei, will unveil the VANTIJ SU-VFC Benchtop at Bioprocess International East (BPI EAST) 2026. The compact system is designed to automate single-use virus filtration for laboratory-scale and process development applications.

The VANTIJ SU-VFC Benchtop is the first benchtop-scale platform in Asahi Kasei Bioprocess’s VANTIJ product family. It is designed to simplify small-scale virus filtration while providing automation, process repeatability and operator-focused features.

The system supports workflows using 0.12 m² and 0.3 m² Planova 35N virus-removal filters. Its features include a guided shadow-board layout for setup, tool-free tubing installation and replacement, intuitive connection points and recipe-driven software.

The system also provides batch reporting and supports consistent execution of critical filtration processes. Initially designed for gene therapy manufacturing, the platform is intended to address operational requirements related to production timelines, regulatory processes, operator training and therapy-specific manufacturing needs.

According to Asahi Kasei Bioprocess, the launch supports the company’s focus on cell and gene therapies, which are an important area within its Healthcare business and Life Science growth strategy.

Asahi Kasei Bioprocess’s fluid management business provides technologies for virus filtration, chromatography, inline buffer formulation and oligonucleotide synthesis, along with bioprocessing systems, columns and automation solutions for pharmaceutical manufacturing.
