Bayer, a global life sciences company, now announces the launch of its consumer health division in India. Globally, Bayer’s Consumer Health division encompasses over 140 brands. The newly launched consumer health business in India comprises of 10 trusted consumer health brands across the categories of allergy, dermatology, nutrition and analgesics. These brands include Saridon, Supradyn, Becozym C Forte, Benadon, Alaspan, Canesten and Bayer’s Tonic. These will be manufactured locally in India.
The Bayer Consumer Health division aims to expand access to everyday health solutions and reach over a 100 million consumers across all communities in India over the next five years. The division will strengthen Bayer’s presence in India, complementing its existing crop science and pharmaceuticals divisions, and leverage digital opportunities across the entire value chain to scale access to healthcare and personalized self-care solutions, as well as reliable health information.
To effectively raise consumer health awareness and give further impetus to responsible self-care in the country, Bayer Consumer Health, in addition to its division launch, has also announced the launch of India’s first Self-Care Council today. This multi-stakeholder body provides a platform for consumer health leaders, technical partners and marketing experts to discuss and act collectively on key self-care topics in India. Through the council, Bayer Consumer Health also plans to launch a national self-care knowledge service which will be a first of its kind digitally enabled platform backed by scientific expertise to empower consumers with uninterrupted access to reliable and credible information on self-care. This service will prompt proactive health management for improved quality of life and increased productivity.
Bayer Consumer Health is headed by Sandeep Verma, who has also been responsible for setting up the business in India.
