Biocytogen Pharmaceuticals (Beijing) has announced a collaboration with Moonlight Bio to accelerate the development of advanced cell therapies targeting some of the most difficult-to-treat cancers.

The partnership brings together Biocytogen’s proprietary fully human antibody library with Moonlight Bio’s expertise in next-generation cell therapy development. The collaboration is expected to focus on creating innovative therapeutic approaches that can potentially overcome resistance mechanisms often seen in solid tumours.

Under the terms of the agreement, Biocytogen will provide off-the-shelf antibody binders targeting key disease pathways, while Moonlight Bio will lead the preclinical development of the resulting cell therapy candidates.

Yuelei Shen, President and CEO of Biocytogen, said the collaboration highlights the versatility of the company’s antibody discovery platforms beyond traditional drug development. By combining complementary strengths, the companies aim to accelerate the delivery of transformative therapies for patients with limited treatment options.

Biocytogen’s platform is built on gene editing technology and integrates a fully human antibody library with a portfolio of target-humanized mouse models, enabling a streamlined approach to drug discovery and development.

Moonlight Bio, a preclinical-stage biotechnology company based in Seattle, is focused on enhancing the potency of cell therapies, particularly for solid tumours where existing treatments have shown limited durability and effectiveness.

The collaboration underscores a growing trend in the biotech sector toward combining antibody engineering with cell therapy innovation to address unmet needs in oncology.
