Biodeal Pharmaceuticals Secures INR 385 Crore Growth Investment from RMB Capitalworks

Biodeal Pharmaceuticals, a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMOs), has secured a INR 385 crore growth investment from RMB Capitalworks, a joint venture between Rand Merchant Bank and Capitalworks Group. The investment marks a milestone in the company’s growth journey and is expected to support its expansion across specialty pharmaceuticals, manufacturing capabilities and regulated international markets.

With more than two decades of experience, Biodeal has established a strong position in nasal drug delivery, supported by integrated pharmaceutical development and manufacturing capabilities. The company serves clients across domestic and international markets and is strengthening its role as a specialised CDMO partner for pharmaceutical companies seeking high-quality manufacturing capabilities for regulated markets.

The new investment is expected to help Biodeal expand its presence across Asian markets while accelerating growth across the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Latin America, Africa and Europe. The company aims to leverage the capital to scale its specialty pharmaceutical capabilities and further strengthen its manufacturing and development infrastructure.

Anurag Kumar, CMD, Biodeal Pharmaceuticals, said the investment represents an endorsement of the capabilities the company has built over the past two decades. He highlighted Biodeal’s focus on differentiated specialty pharmaceutical capabilities, particularly nasal drug delivery, along with its emphasis on quality and manufacturing excellence.

Kumar added that the company selected RMB Capitalworks as a strategic partner for its operational expertise, governance approach and growth-oriented outlook. The partnership is expected to support Biodeal’s ambition of building a globally competitive specialty pharmaceutical company and advancing towards a planned public listing.

Anshuman Malur, Managing Partner, RMB Capitalworks, said healthcare remains a core focus for the investment firm and described Biodeal as a differentiated pharmaceutical platform with significant growth potential. He added that RMB Capitalworks will work alongside the Biodeal team to strengthen governance, accelerate expansion and support the company’s long-term growth objectives.

Biodeal has recorded consistent profitable growth over the past five years. According to the company, FY26 revenue is estimated to have grown by more than 60 percent year-on-year, accompanied by further expansion in EBITDA margins.

The company is now entering its next phase of expansion, with plans to strengthen its position as a globally trusted specialty pharmaceutical CDMO. Its focus on nasal drug delivery, integrated development and manufacturing capabilities, and expansion into regulated markets is expected to remain central to its growth strategy.

The INR 385 crore investment from RMB Capitalworks is therefore positioned to provide both financial resources and strategic support as Biodeal scales its operations, expands its international footprint and progresses towards its planned public listing.
