Celcius Logistics Launches Celcius+ to Strengthen Pharmaceutical Supply Chain with INR 50 Crore Investment

Celcius Logistics has launched Celcius+, a specialised logistics vertical dedicated to the pharmaceutical supply chain, aimed at addressing the stringent requirements of temperature control, compliance, and real-time visibility for medicines, vaccines, and other sensitive products.

In its first phase, the company will invest INR 50 crore to establish a dedicated pharma fleet and supporting infrastructure, targeting INR 100 crore in annual recurring revenue from this segment within 18 months. Of this investment, INR 35 crore will be allocated to deploying 100 new reefer vehicles along key pharmaceutical corridors across India, while INR 10–15 crore will go towards creating a pharma courier network for high-demand urban and semi-urban markets.

The expansion will also involve hiring 30–40 specialists with expertise in pharmaceutical logistics, operations, and regulatory compliance. Celcius+ will leverage the company’s technology platform to offer real-time tracking, continuous temperature monitoring, and AI-enabled route optimisation to ensure product safety and efficiency.

Founder and CEO Swarup Bose said India’s fast-growing pharmaceutical sector still faces challenges in maintaining product integrity from manufacturer to patient. “With Celcius+, we are not only expanding capacity but also setting new benchmarks for wastage reduction, safety, transparency, and operational excellence in pharma logistics. This investment marks the beginning of a focused journey to bridge gaps in pharma distribution with tech-backed, GDP-compliant solutions,” he said, adding that the initiative supports the company’s mission to reduce cold chain gaps and enable safe, timely deliveries for life-saving products.

Celcius+ will partner with leading pharmaceutical companies and aims to expand operations to more than 100 cities by the end of 2025. The service will handle high-value, temperature-sensitive products such as vaccines, biologics, insulin, and speciality medicines, covering primary and secondary distribution as well as last-mile courier deliveries.

The company’s 24-foot reefer fleet will be equipped with advanced telematics, digital lock systems, CCTV surveillance, and central control tower monitoring for temperature and location. All infrastructure will be built to meet pharmaceutical compliance standards and ensure quick corrective action in case of deviations during transit.

Celcius Logistics, which raised INR 250 crore in an oversubscribed Series B funding round earlier in 2024, currently operates in over 600 cities and plans to expand to more than 1,000 cities in the coming years. Celcius+ will play a key role in this growth strategy, strengthening the company’s position in India’s cold chain logistics sector.
