Centrient Pharmaceuticals Joins UN Global Compact, Strengthens Sustainability Commitment

Centrient Pharmaceuticals, a global leader in sustainable B2B manufacturing of antibiotics, statins, and antifungals, has officially joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative.

This milestone underscores the company’s deep-rooted commitment to responsible business practices and its ongoing efforts to align with globally recognised principles on human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption.

As part of the UNGC, Centrient will continue aligning its operations and strategies with ten universal principles, while supporting broader UN goals, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Sustainability is already at the core of Centrient’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) agenda. The company is a founding member of the AMR Industry Alliance and has earned Minimized AMR certification from BSI for its Santa Perpetua site in Spain—an independent validation of its rigorous controls on antibiotic manufacturing emissions to help combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR), one of the world’s most pressing public health threats.

Devvesh Srivastav, Country President, Global HR Director – Tech OP and Regional HR Head – APAC, said, “Joining the UN Global Compact is both a proud milestone and a natural progression of our deep-rooted values at Centrient. It reinforces our commitment to ethical, sustainable growth and to creating a positive impact—not just within our operations, but across the communities we serve.”

“At the heart of this journey are our people, whose dedication to upholding the highest standards of integrity, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility inspires our progress every day,” he added.

On the environmental front, Centrient has set near-term climate goals approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), reflecting its ambition to mitigate environmental impact and build climate resilience into its operations.

From a social perspective, Centrient aims to increase access to essential medicines to 1.5 billion patients while fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace culture across its global locations. Employees actively lead and participate in community initiatives—from tree planting and education to outreach for vulnerable populations—driven by Centrient’s Global Purpose Platform, now in its fifth year.

On the governance side, Centrient upholds a strong ethical framework guided by its Code of Conduct and Human Rights Policy, aligned with the UN Declaration of Human Rights and core ILO conventions.

By joining the UNGC, Centrient is further embedding sustainability into its global strategy, reinforcing its accountability not only to stakeholders and partners but to the wider community and future generations.
