Cipla has appointed Achin Gupta as its next Managing Director and Global Chief Executive Officer (MD & GCEO), effective April 1, 2026, for a term of five years, subject to shareholder approval.

Gupta, who currently serves as GCEO, will succeed Umang Vohra, who has decided not to seek reappointment upon completion of his current term on March 31, 2026.

As part of the leadership transition, Gupta has also been appointed as an Additional Director effective April 1, 2026.

In a related move, Meera Vanjari, General Counsel (Designate), will take over as Global General Counsel and Senior Management Personnel from AS Kumar on the same date.

The changes, approved by Cipla’s Board on October 30, 2025, underscore the company’s structured succession planning and focus on sustained leadership excellence.
