DoP amends Drug Price Control Order to add price list norms for medical devices

The Department of Pharmaceuticals has amended the drug price regulation to include the form in which the medical devices firms have to submit a price list to the drug regulatory authority.

In the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013, in the sub paragraphs of paragraph 24 and 25 where it stipulates forms under which the manufacturer should submit the price list and supplementary price list, it has added "Form VI" in addition to the existing Form-V, to the dealers, State Drug Controllers and the Government. This should be submitted from time to time indicating the changes.

Paragraph 24 deals with the price listing and filing for scheduled formulations, while paragraph 25 details on the regulatory requirements of non-scheduled formulations.

The Department, in its amendment, also provided the proforma for price list for medical devices, to be submitted according to the amended rules.
