Chinese medical device manufacturer EDAN Instruments has strengthened its presence in the United States with the opening of a new manufacturing hub in San Diego, California.

This marks the first US-based production site of its subsidiary, EDAN Diagnostics, strengthening its capacity to deliver advanced medical technologies to healthcare providers while bolstering supply chain resilience across North America.

The new 20,882-square-foot facility, combined with EDAN Diagnostics’ existing 13,588-square-foot office, integrates manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, R&D, and pre- and post-sales support under one ecosystem. This move enhances operational efficiency, accelerates service delivery, and expands capacity to meet the evolving demands of US healthcare systems. The facility is fully certified, including MDSAP and a California FDB medical device manufacturing license.

According to Hao Zhang, CEO of Edan Instruments, the new facility represents more than expansion—it reflects the company’s three-decade commitment to staying close to its customers.

He emphasised that the establishment of this hub reinforces the company's dedication to providing healthcare professionals with reliable, innovative technologies designed around patient needs. Zhang added that the site also marks the beginning of EDAN's global supply chain ecosystem, linking US operations with its international network to enhance efficiency and responsiveness worldwide.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held on September 30, 2025, coincided with EDAN’s 30th global anniversary and the 15th anniversary of its US subsidiary. To commemorate the milestone, the company dispatched its first shipment from the new facility, symbolising the beginning of local production and distribution.

Headquartered in Shenzhen, China, Edan Instruments operates 22 subsidiaries worldwide, including its US arm, EDAN Diagnostics, based in San Diego.
