Eli Lilly Launches Hyderabad Tech Hub to Power Digital Transformation in Pharma Manufacturing

Eli Lilly and Company (India) has launched a new technology and innovation center in Hyderabad, which will serve as a strategic hub for its global digital operations. Located in Gachibowli, the facility spans 220,000 square feet across four floors at Phoenix Equinox and is set to play a pivotal role in supporting the company’s operations worldwide.

The site will focus on advancing capabilities in artificial intelligence (AI), automation, cloud computing, and software product engineering. Lilly has already onboarded 100 professionals at the new facility and plans to expand the workforce to 1,500 over the next few years.

The facility was formally inaugurated by Diogo Rau, Executive Vice President and Chief Information and Digital Officer at Eli Lilly and Company. The event was graced by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, and Sanjay Kumar, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department.

Chief Minister Reddy welcomed Lilly’s entry into Hyderabad’s growing life sciences ecosystem and said the launch reaffirms the city’s status as a global innovation hub in healthcare. “The Telangana government is committed to building an environment where cutting-edge companies like Lilly can flourish and make a global impact,” he said.

Minister Sridhar Babu added, “Hyderabad is rapidly positioning itself as a global center for digital healthcare transformation, and Lilly’s investment signals the city’s rising momentum.”

Diogo Rau said the Hyderabad site reflects Lilly’s long-term commitment to India and global innovation. “We’re bringing together top talent in data science, AI, and engineering to create the digital foundation needed to discover and deliver innovative medicines faster. Hyderabad’s rich legacy of innovation makes it an ideal partner for our mission.”

Lilly’s Hyderabad hub will serve as a cornerstone in integrating technology with healthcare, enabling accelerated R&D, improved operational efficiency, and better outcomes for patients globally.
