ELMED Life Sciences Raises USD 2.7 Million to Scale Probiotic Manufacturing and Global Expansion

ELMED Life Sciences, a science-driven company specializing in probiotic and biological solutions, has raised USD 2.7 million (approximately INR 25 crore) in a Series A funding round led by AgriSURE Fund, managed by NABVENTURES.

The investment will support the company’s next phase of growth, with a focus on expanding manufacturing capacity, strengthening research and development, and scaling distribution across key domestic and international markets.

Founded by Pruthivin Reddy Madduri and co-founded by Nikhil Konkathi, ELMED Life Sciences is advancing microbiome-based solutions designed to enhance productivity, immunity, and sustainability across farm ecosystems. The company operates across four key segments—animal health, agriculture, aquaculture, and human health—offering probiotic solutions for poultry, dairy, livestock, aquaculture, and soil and plant health.

The funding comes amid a broader shift in global and Indian agriculture toward biological and sustainable solutions. Increasing regulatory restrictions on antibiotic usage, rising demand for residue-free produce, and growing awareness of sustainable farming practices are accelerating adoption of probiotic-based products across sectors such as poultry, dairy, and aquaculture.

With the new capital, ELMED plans to expand its manufacturing capabilities in Hyderabad while deepening its R&D efforts in microbiome-based technologies. The company also aims to strengthen its distribution network across Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets in India, while enhancing its presence in international markets where demand for sustainable and antibiotic-free solutions is rising.

Speaking on the development, Pruthivin Reddy Madduri stated that the company was founded on the belief that nature-driven biological intelligence, when combined with scientific rigor, can transform productivity and health across ecosystems. He added that the partnership with AgriSURE Fund marks a strategic milestone in scaling operations across India and expanding globally.

Ashish Choudhary highlighted that Indian agriculture is steadily transitioning toward sustainable practices, creating a strong need for reliable biological solutions. He noted that ELMED’s scientific capabilities and market traction position it well for scalable growth.

Sumeet Seraf added that ELMED operates in a high-growth segment within probiotics and biological solutions, making it a compelling investment opportunity with strong scalability potential.

Headquartered in Hyderabad, ELMED Life Sciences currently operates across India and follows a B2B model, serving several multinational clients. The company has also established a growing international presence, exporting to over 18 countries, with plans to further expand across Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Notably, ELMED is among the first companies in India to develop probiotics specifically for agricultural applications, positioning it at the forefront of the country’s biologicals revolution.
