Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has announced the appointment of R.S. Vasan as President – India Business and Senior Management Personnel (SMP).

His appointment was recommended by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and subsequently approved by the Board of Directors on July 14, 2025.

Vasan brings with him over four decades of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, having held several senior leadership roles.

Prior to joining Emcure, he spent more than 15 years at Sun Pharma, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President – Special Projects. He has also held key positions at several other prominent pharmaceutical companies.

Vasan holds a Postgraduate degree in Management from Macquarie Graduate School of Management, Sydney. He is also an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, and ISB Hyderabad, and is a rank holder in Master of Science in Organic Chemistry.

In June, Emcure Pharmaceuticals announced that its Board of Directors had approved an agreement to acquire the remaining shareholding ( 20.42 percent) from the minority shareholders of Zuventus Healthcare Ltd., a subsidiary of the company.

Upon completion of the transaction, Zuventus will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Emcure Pharmaceuticals. The deal is expected to be finalised in the second quarter of FY 2026.
