Fermenta Biotech, one of India’s leading manufacturers of APIs, intermediates, and nutritional premixes, has been granted a patent by the Indian Patent Office for its proprietary process to produce plant-based Vitamin D3.
The newly granted patent strengthens Fermenta’s intellectual property (IP) portfolio and reinforces its leadership in sustainable Vitamin D3 solutions.
The invention enables the production of fully vegan and vegetarian-friendly Vitamin D3, addressing the accelerating global demand for ethically sourced, sustainable nutrition.
The company said the development opens new opportunities across nutraceuticals and food fortification sectors, where sustainable, plant-derived ingredients command premiums and growing market share.
