Glenmark Pharmaceuticals has announced a strategic shift to directly commercialise and distribute its nasal spray Ryaltris in the United States, moving away from its earlier partner-led model.

Effective April 1, 2026, the company will take full control of marketing, sales, and distribution of Ryaltris, marking a significant transition in its US business strategy. Previously, the product was commercialised through partnerships, including with Hikma Pharmaceuticals.

This move is aimed at strengthening Glenmark’s presence in the US market by enabling greater control over brand positioning, pricing strategies, and engagement with healthcare providers.

Ryaltris, a combination nasal spray used for the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis, operates in a competitive US market, where major pharmaceutical companies already have established commercial infrastructures.

By bringing operations in-house, Glenmark expects to improve long-term value by eliminating partner-related costs and building a direct relationship with customers. However, the transition will require significant investment in setting up a dedicated salesforce, distribution network, and market access capabilities.

The US allergic rhinitis market presents a sizeable growth opportunity, but the shift also introduces execution and cost challenges, particularly in the near term, as the company scales up its commercial capabilities.

The move reflects a broader strategic push by Glenmark to strengthen its branded and specialty portfolio globally, while taking greater ownership of key assets in high-value markets like the United States.
