HBSUK and Hexaware Technologies have announced a collaboration aimed at strengthening HBSUK’s workforce management offering.
The partnership comes at a time when approximately 7.22 million people are awaiting treatment within the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), placing increased pressure on healthcare providers to rapidly mobilise clinician and support staff while maintaining strict compliance and governance requirements. As a result, modernising workforce onboarding processes has become increasingly important to help healthcare organisations respond to rising patient demand and improve access to care.
As part of the collaboration, a new digital solution has been introduced to streamline recruitment and onboarding processes. Through a secure portal, clinicians can submit credentials, identity documentation and Right-to-Work evidence electronically. While the platform digitises key processes, HBSUK’s compliance team will continue to oversee verification procedures to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards.
HBSUK worked with Hexaware to implement the workforce management system on Journey36’s cloud-based App36 platform. The platform orchestrates multiple large language models to accelerate development, implementation and ongoing configuration. It is further supported by AI governance capabilities through Axonyx.ai to ensure responsible, transparent and compliant use of artificial intelligence in healthcare operations.
Additional features scheduled for release in June include rota management, payment reconciliation and enhancements for HBSUK’s Contact Centre operations.
A key aspect of the project has been the speed of development. By leveraging advanced technology platforms and global development teams, the partnership has enabled faster testing and deployment of updates compared with traditional development cycles, allowing the system to evolve in line with operational requirements.
Keith Misson, Chief Executive Officer of HBSUK, said the ability to respond quickly to business requirements and core workflows has been a significant advantage of the collaboration, helping the company better support healthcare providers across the UK.
R Srikrishna, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Hexaware Technologies, said the partnership reflects a collaborative engineering approach aimed at helping healthcare organisations simplify complex workflows and improve operational agility.
Shantanu Baruah, President and Global Head of Healthcare, Life Sciences and Insurance at Hexaware Technologies, noted that clinician onboarding often involves fragmented systems and multiple manual verification processes. He said the new AI-enabled platform brings these functions together into a single system, providing healthcare organisations with a more scalable and transparent approach to managing clinician workforce operations.
