Healthium Medtech, in collaboration with the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), has launched the first cohort of the C-CAMP Healthium Innovations Programme for Surgical Interventions and Medical Technologies in Bengaluru.
The initiative, part of Healthium Medtech’s CSR efforts, aims to nurture deep-science innovations in affordable, scalable and digitally enabled medical technologies. In its first year, the focus is on surgical interventions—an area rapidly advancing worldwide but still inaccessible and unaffordable in many parts of India.
While metropolitan hospitals have embraced advanced surgical technologies, Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities often remain underserved due to high costs of imported solutions, limited infrastructure and training gaps. This programme seeks to address these challenges by supporting India-led, frugal innovations tailored for local needs without compromising on quality.
Healthium brings expertise in surgical technologies, backed by six global-standard manufacturing facilities and over 85 patents across India, the US and Europe. C-CAMP, supported by the Department of Biotechnology, has built one of India’s strongest life sciences innovation ecosystems, backing over 550 start-ups.
The inaugural cohort includes start-ups like BrainSight AI, Nesa Medtech, Cartosense, Shira Medtech, Samaritan AI, Quixotix, Roots to Cusps and Healyantra, working in fields such as neurology, AI-enabled surgical planning, urology and imaging.
Over the next nine months, selected ventures will receive structured mentorship, incubation support, clinical access and industry expertise to accelerate market readiness.
