IBA and Shreeji Sign Multi-Site Deal to Deploy Four Cyclotrons Across India

Ion Beam Applications S.A. (IBA), a global leader in particle accelerator technology and nuclear medicine solutions, has signed a multi-site agreement with Shreeji Imaging and Diagnostic Centre Pvt. Ltd. for the delivery and installation of four Cyclone KIUBE 300 cyclotrons in India. The contract, valued between €5 million and €7 million, will see the systems deployed in Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Kochi and Bhubaneswar.

The new cyclotrons will support industrial-scale production of fluorine-18 (F-18) labelled compounds and other PET radiopharmaceuticals, strengthening domestic manufacturing capacity as India’s PET imaging market expands beyond major metropolitan areas. Rising demand for advanced diagnostics, particularly in oncology, has increased the need for secure and reliable tracer supply across emerging healthcare hubs.

By adding four Cyclone KIUBE 300 systems to its network, Shreeji aims to bring high-quality F-18 production closer to patients, reduce logistical risks and create additional capacity for next-generation tracers. The agreement further deepens IBA’s footprint in India and supports its broader mission to expand timely and dependable access to PET diagnostics while establishing a strong installed base for long-term service and upgrades.

Shreeji selected the Cyclone KIUBE platform for its high beam current capabilities, industrial-grade reliability and upgrade flexibility. The system enables sustained, GMP-compliant F-18 production while maintaining operational efficiency across multiple sites, supporting scalable and cost-effective growth as tracer portfolios evolve.

Headquartered in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, IBA is a leading provider of equipment and services in proton therapy, industrial sterilization, radiopharmaceutical production and dosimetry, employing approximately 2,100 people globally. Founded in 2000, Shreeji operates India’s largest PET radiopharmacy network, with GMP-ready cyclotron facilities in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Lucknow and Bengaluru, serving more than 75 locations nationwide.
