ICT Mumbai and ITRI Ink Pact to Boost Rs 30 Cr Mumbai Biocluster Project

The Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) Mumbai and the Institute for Transformative Research and Innovation (ITRI) have signed an Expression of Interest (EoI) to jointly catalyse Rs 30 crore in funding for the construction of the Mumbai Biocluster Building.

The proposed building is set to be developed at the Marol campus of ICT Mumbai, with funding to be facilitated through ITRI’s various national and international partners. This collaboration is expected to position the biocluster as a central hub for fostering advanced research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the biotechnology sector.

As per the agreement, ICT Mumbai will oversee the provision of land and infrastructure support, while ITRI will mobilise resources and partnerships to fund and drive the project forward. Once completed, the Mumbai Biocluster Building will support integrated biotech research, translational activities, and capacity building in alignment with national development goals.

The EoI marks a significant step in creating a world-class ecosystem to advance India’s biotechnology capabilities.
