Innovent Biologics has entered into a collaboration with Eli Lilly and Company to jointly advance innovative therapies in oncology and immunology. The agreement marks the seventh partnership between the two companies, focused on delivering quality medicines to patients worldwide.
The collaboration introduces a differentiated structure aimed at accelerating global development of Innovent’s pipeline assets. Leveraging its antibody technology platforms and streamlined clinical development capabilities, Innovent will lead programmes from early discovery through clinical proof-of-concept (Phase II completion) in China. Lilly will receive exclusive rights to develop and commercialise the products outside Greater China, while Innovent will retain commercial rights within Greater China.
Dr. Michael Yu, Founder, Chairman and CEO, Innovent, said the partnership builds on the companies’ strong track record and creates a seamless innovation ecosystem that combines Innovent’s agile R&D engine with Lilly’s global development and commercial expertise. He noted that the model enables efficient cross-border collaboration and accelerates the translation of scientific discoveries into global medical solutions.
Under the terms of the agreement, Innovent will receive an upfront payment of USD 350 million and could earn up to approximately USD 8.5 billion in development, regulatory and commercial milestone payments, subject to the achievement of specified targets. The company will also be eligible to receive tiered royalties on net sales generated outside Greater China.
