IPC and Jharkhand Pharmacy Council Join Hands to Strengthen Drug Safety

The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) and the Jharkhand State Pharmacy Council (JSPC) have signed an MoU to improve medication safety and strengthen pharmacovigilance across the state. The collaboration aims to enhance the capabilities of pharmacists in reporting adverse drug reactions, tracking device-related issues, and promoting rational use of medicines.

As part of the agreement, pharmacists in Jharkhand will receive training, participate in awareness programmes, and observe National Pharmacovigilance Week to reinforce the importance of drug-safety reporting. The partnership will also encourage wider use of the National Formulary of India as a standard reference for safe dispensing practices.

The IPC will provide technical expertise and guidance, while the Pharmacy Council will support implementation across hospitals, clinics, and community pharmacies. This joint effort is expected to significantly boost medicine-safety surveillance and improve overall public health outcomes in Jharkhand.
