J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals stated that it will continue investing and strengthening portfolio in the cardiology and hypertension space and will continue to launch products in the area of anti-allergy, oral corticosteroids, cough & cold and nicotine replacement therapies.

The company expects the performance to improve in select pockets of international business and other focus will be on aggressive brand building, launches of new products and awareness programmes, as well as penetration in Tier II and Tier III towns in India.

The company stated that it has a strong balance sheet and robust cash flows to execute on inorganic strategy.

The company’s business continues to perform strongly in the first quarter ended June 30, 2021 with revenue of Rs. 606 crore as compared to Rs. 522 crore, registering growth of 16%.

The company's domestic formulations business records 39 per cent growth while the International business revenue was largely flat as compared to Q1 FY21.

“Going forward we expect the international business to revive as compared to the performance in the first quarter of this financial year. On the international market front, we have seen flat growth (given the Covid situation), however, our key markets like the US, South Africa outperformed this quarter growing in excess of 20%. Russia has seen gradual signs of revival,” Chopra added.
