Kärcher India has launched a range of locally produced professional cleaning machines across floor care, sweeping and high-pressure cleaning, expanding its manufacturing footprint in India as the country takes on a larger role within Kärcher’s global production network.
Unveiled at Kärcher India’s training center in Noida, the new portfolio marks a deeper localisation push spanning manufacturing, domestic sourcing, service and technical capabilities.
The expansion forms part of Kärcher’s global strategy 2030 with a strong focus on ‘Driving Growth in India’.
With 18 manufacturing plants globally, the company is scaling its presence in India to serve growing domestic commercial and industrial demand, while building capabilities to support wider regional markets over time.
Kärcher has also studied India’s specific cleaning requirements and operating conditions to develop solutions suited to local applications. This includes addressing high dust levels, demanding industrial environments and extended operating cycles, alongside a focus on intuitive operation and easier routine maintenance.
This research has been the foundation for the development of these robust machines. The approach supports Kärcher’s broader ‘Make in India’ strategy through increased domestic value addition and local manufacturing.
Markus Limberger, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Alfred Kärcher SE & Co. KG, said, “As part of our Strategy 2030, 'Driving Growth in India' is of utmost importance for Kärcher. Strengthening our manufacturing capabilities in the country is an important part of this ambition. By expanding local production, we are bringing manufacturing closer to our customers while building a scalable base for long-term growth. At the same time, we remain committed to applying the same engineering, quality and safety standards that guide Kärcher globally.”
The range of locally manufactured professional cleaning machines unveiled included Scrubber Dryer – BD 43/40 C Ep (a compact walk-behind scrubber designed for continuous professional floor maintenance); Scrubber Dryer – BD 50/50 C Bp Classic (a battery-powered walk-behind scrubber designed for efficient cleaning across commercial and institutional environments); Single-Disc Machine – BDS 43/150 C Classic (a rugged machine designed for deep floor scrubbing, buffing and polishing); Vacuum Sweeper – KM 85/50 W Bp (a battery-driven walk-behind sweeper with active dust control for industrial and commercial environments); Ride-on Scrubber Dryer – BD 80/120 R Classic (a high-capacity ride-on scrubber designed for intensive cleaning of large floor areas and extended operating cycles); Cold Water High-Pressure Cleaner – HD 7/16 (an industrial-grade high-pressure cleaner designed for demanding professional cleaning applications) and Sweeper – KM 70/20 C Classic (a manual push sweeper designed for efficient collection of dust and debris across indoor and outdoor areas.)
The portfolio serves applications across manufacturing, logistics, health care, BSC and hospitality, automotive, infrastructure and institutional facilities.
Across relevant models, Kärcher has incorporated features designed for demanding Indian operating environments, including rugged structural components, sealed electronics, filtration for high-dust conditions, intuitive controls and tool-free maintenance touchpoints.
Machines are also subjected to extensive endurance testing, including 100-hour stress tests, as part of the company’s focus on operational reliability and resilience.
The local manufacturing includes structural components such as heavy-gauge steel chassis, high-capacity roto-moulded tanks and cast brush decks, reflecting a shift from basic assembly toward deeper domestic fabrication and engineering.
Production follows Kärcher’s global quality system, supported by endurance testing and automated end-of-line diagnostic validation. This approach enables greater control over manufacturing, supports production scale-up and creates a stronger foundation for further localisation and portfolio expansion.
The launch is part of Kärcher’s longer-term plan to scale manufacturing and technical capabilities in India as demand for mechanised cleaning grows.
The company is targeting strong double-digit annual production expansion across localised product lines while continuing to strengthen its domestic manufacturing ecosystem. Its roadmap also includes additional categories such as heavy industrial vacuums, larger ride-on sweepers and municipal cleaning platforms, alongside greater localisation of spare parts to support faster service response.
