Mankind Pharma has entered into an exclusive in-licensing and marketing agreement with Chongqing Chenan Biopharmaceutical, China, to commercialise two insulin analogue products in India — Insulin Degludec and the Insulin Degludec + Aspart combination.
The partnership is part of Mankind Pharma’s strategy to expand its presence in the diabetes care segment and strengthen its portfolio of advanced injectable therapies. The addition of the two products is expected to broaden the company's offerings in injectable diabetes care and support its efforts to address the evolving treatment needs of patients in India.
The agreement also builds on Mankind Pharma’s ongoing efforts to establish strategic partnerships with global biopharmaceutical companies and expand its in-licensing pipeline.
Atish Majumdar, Senior President – Sales and Marketing, Mankind Pharma, said China is increasingly emerging as a hub for innovative biopharmaceutical assets. He noted that, following the company's partnerships involving Insulin Aspart and Insulin Degludec, Mankind Pharma remains focused on expanding its China-sourced in-licensing pipeline.
According to Majumdar, the latest partnership is aimed at expanding access to advanced diabetes therapies for patients in India while strengthening Mankind Pharma’s position in the injectable diabetes segment.
The collaboration with Chongqing Chenan Biopharmaceutical reflects Mankind Pharma’s broader strategy of leveraging global innovation through strategic partnerships and in-licensing opportunities. The company is seeking to expand its therapeutic portfolio by bringing additional advanced treatment options to the Indian market.
The addition of the two insulin analogues further reinforces Mankind Pharma’s focus on diabetes care and its strategy of building a comprehensive portfolio of injectable therapies for the Indian healthcare market.
