Marksans Pharma has announced that its wholly owned UK subsidiary, Relonchem Ltd., has received marketing authorisation from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) for Metformin Hydrochloride Relonchem Prolonged Release Tablets in three strengths—500 mg, 750 mg, and 1000 mg.

This latest approval adds to a series of MHRA authorisations Relonchem has secured in 2025.

In June 2025, the company secured marketing authorisation for Oxybutynin hydrochloride 2.5mg/5ml oral solution, following the May approvals for Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg/5 ml Oral Solution and Sennosides 7.5 mg Tablets.

Earlier in March, MHRA granted authorisation for Baclofen 10 mg Tablets, indicated for muscle spasms, cramps, and tightness associated with multiple sclerosis or spinal injuries.

In February, Relonchem also gained approval for Ibuprofen and Paracetamol 200 mg/500 mg Film-coated Tablets (Bell's Healthcare Dual Action Pain Relief 200 mg/500 mg Film-coated Tablets).
