With the start of the new year, the Telangana State Chemists and Druggists Association (TSCDA) has ushered in a new phase of leadership following the completion of its state-level elections. The polls were conducted on Sunday at the TSCDA Bhavan in Hyderabad, with members from across Telangana participating to elect the association’s new office-bearers.
The election process was conducted under the supervision of election officers Purushottam and Satyam to ensure a smooth and transparent procedure. Senior representatives from the All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD), including national vice-president Vaijanath Eknath Jagushte and joint secretary Aravind Gupta, were present as observers, lending further credibility to the proceedings.
The presidential contest witnessed a straight fight between Kothapalli Srinivas and Denikindi Srinivas. Kothapalli Srinivas secured a clear mandate, winning 53 votes against 27 votes polled by his rival.
For the post of general secretary, Thodupunuri Raju emerged victorious in a closely watched contest against E. Sai Babu. Raju won the election with 54 votes, while Sai Babu secured 26 votes.
The treasurer’s election recorded the widest margin of the day, with Pendem Krishna Kumar registering a decisive win. He garnered 60 votes, defeating G. Venugopal Sharma, who received 20 votes.
The results confirmed a comprehensive victory for the unified panel led by Kothapalli Srinivas, Thodupunuri Raju, and Pendem Krishna Kumar, reflecting strong confidence among members in the new leadership team.
Following the declaration of results, office-bearers from district units and representatives of AIOCD congratulated the newly elected leaders. In their acceptance remarks, the elected representatives thanked the members for their support and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the interests, welfare, and professional development of chemists and druggists across Telangana.
