Körber has launched the latest version of its PAS-X Manufacturing Execution System (MES), introducing PAS-X MES 3.4, a next-generation solution designed to modernize pharmaceutical manufacturing. The updated platform combines web-based scalability, intuitive usability, artificial intelligence support, and advanced tools for deployment, monitoring, and long-term lifecycle management, setting a new standard for digital shopfloor operations.
“With the launch of PAS-X MES 3.4, Körber is setting a new benchmark for digital manufacturing in the life sciences industry,” said Pierrick Lebigre, vice president of product software, Körber Business Area Pharma. “Our customers gain a powerful cloud- and AI-driven platform that modernizes the shopfloor and makes processes faster, more flexible, and more efficient. This release lays the foundation for sustainable competitiveness in a highly regulated environment – today and in the future.”
The platform’s NextGen Shopfloor (NGS) execution already supports equipment-related operations such as Order Execution and Order Review (Batch Record Review, BRR), with the vision of expanding to cover all shopfloor activities. Operators benefit from a responsive interface accessible across devices ranging from handheld tablets to large-screen desktops, enhancing usability and efficiency.
Key features of PAS-X MES 3.4 include an integrated Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) interface that enables seamless inventory reconciliation between MES and SAP WMS systems, reducing integration effort by 15%. The system also provides service scalability with multiple service instances for high availability and failover. Built-in observability tools allow real-time monitoring and performance analysis, while advanced CI/CD pipelines and containerization ensure rapid deployment and maintenance.
Körber, an international technology group with over 13,000 employees across more than 100 global locations, continues to focus on driving innovation across digital, pharma, supply chain, and technology sectors. Through PAS-X MES 3.4, the company aims to empower pharmaceutical manufacturers to achieve higher flexibility, compliance, and operational efficiency in an increasingly competitive landscape.
