The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Raebareli (NIPER, Raebareli) has entered into a partnership with Roche Pharma India by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing pharmaceutical education and research in India.

The collaboration seeks to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements by providing students and faculty with deeper exposure to real-world pharmaceutical practices and regulatory frameworks. Through this partnership, both institutions aim to strengthen skill development and foster innovation in the life sciences sector.

As part of the MoU, the two organisations will jointly introduce a certificate programme in regulatory affairs designed for students as well as industry professionals. Additionally, a series of guest lectures by industry experts will be conducted, focusing on emerging areas such as artificial intelligence-driven pharmaceutical research, drug development and healthcare innovation.

The agreement was formalised in the presence of Manoj Joshi, Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, at Shastri Bhawan in New Delhi. He highlighted the importance of strengthening India’s capabilities in regulatory sciences, biologics and AI to maintain a competitive edge in the global pharmaceutical landscape.

The partnership aligns with the government’s broader initiatives such as the Viksit Bharat vision and the Biopharma Shakti mission, which aim to transition India’s pharmaceutical industry from volume-based growth to innovation-led development.

By promoting closer collaboration between academia and industry, the initiative is expected to contribute to the development of a future-ready workforce and support sustainable growth in India’s rapidly evolving life sciences ecosystem.
