NuSynth Technologies Raises INR 36.5 Crore in Seed Funding

NuSynth Technologies has raised INR 36.5 crore in seed funding. The round was co-led by Avaana Capital and Shastra VC.

Over the last 2 decades, India has built significant capacity in chemical manufacturing. However, many critical molecules continue to rely on complex, multi-step synthesis routes that carry higher material and energy cost, use import-dependent intermediates and hazardous reagents, and pose challenges during commercial scale-up. This creates a compelling opportunity to deepen domestic R&D and build native chemical process innovation capabilities that yield higher efficiency, sustainability, and commercial scalability.

NuSynth addresses this challenge by redesigning chemical processes from first principles, not through incremental tweaks. By re-evaluating starting materials, reaction pathways, and process economics, their platform develops synthetic routes engineered for superior cost efficiency, yield, cycle time, safety, sustainability, and scalability.

Each R&D cycle combines first-principles process redesign with predictive synthesis models and incorporates manufacturability, raw-material economics, safety and quality from day 1.

Every cycle also feeds NuSynth's Artificial Intelligence (AI) engine, which converts experimental data into a proprietary knowledge base. This compounding intelligence accelerates future molecule selection, experimentation and commercial scale-up with each program. Over time, this allows Nusynth to significantly shorten traditional R&D gestation cycles.

By combining their compounding R&D engine with in-house scientific depth and collaboration with a deep network of scientists and entrepreneurs, the company is building a repeatable blueprint to originate differentiated chemistry and translate it into commercially scalable processes.

Poorvank Purohit, Co-Founder and CEO, NuSynth Technologies, said, “Over the last 2 decades, India has built significant strength at manufacturing established chemistry. We believe the next chapter will be defined by our ability to innovate on the underlying chemistry itself. At NuSynth, we are going back to first principles—questioning established routes, redesigning processes and engineering them for commercial scale from day 1. Our ambition is to build proprietary processes from India that can deliver superior economics and sustainability, and serve customers across global markets.”

The new capital will support the development of NuSynth’s R&D and technology capabilities, initial portfolio of proprietary processes, scale-up capabilities and team.

Shruti Srivastava, Partner, Avaana Capital, said, “The next phase of India’s growth in high-performance industrial chemistry will increasingly be shaped by the ability to originate proprietary synthesis pathways that are fundamentally more efficient and commercially scalable over time. NuSynth brings together deep expertise across R&D, innovation and commercial scale-up, combining first-principles approach with AI, to build differentiated process IP from India. We believe this approach will improve the economics, resource efficiency and resilience of chemical manufacturing across critical sectors, while creating globally competitive technology platforms from India.”

NuSynth’s approach is built on a simple premise: many commercially important molecules can be made fundamentally better. Beginning with high-value sectors like pharmaceuticals and electronics chemicals, they are building process innovation capability that extends across multiple chemistry-led sectors, over time.

Avijeet Alagathi, Managing Partner, Shastra VC, said, “What excites us about NuSynth is how they are using AI to make chemical R&D faster and more efficient. By learning from each experiment, they reduce trial and error and shorten timelines for developing and scaling new chemistries. The founding team brings together a rare combination of scientific depth, industry experience, and execution capability, and we believe this combination, along with its data and an AI engine, strongly positions NuSynth to build a differentiated process innovation platform from India for global markets.”
