Oliva Therapeutics, LLC has announced the upcoming commercial launch of Amerithroid (Thyroid Tablets, USP), a naturally derived Desiccated Thyroid Extract (DTE) developed for the treatment of patients with hypothyroidism.

Manufactured exclusively in the United States by Jerome Stevens Pharmaceuticals (JSP), Amerithroid contains both levothyroxine (T4) and liothyronine (T3), providing a naturally derived thyroid hormone replacement option for patients requiring combination therapy.

According to the company, the launch reinforces its strategy of expanding a portfolio of endocrine therapies while emphasizing domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply chain reliability.

Amerithroid builds on JSP's longstanding experience in thyroid therapeutics. The company previously developed Unithroid, the first levothyroxine sodium tablet approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Oliva Therapeutics said the same focus on manufacturing quality, product consistency and US-based production has been applied to the development of Amerithroid.

The introduction of Amerithroid follows Oliva Therapeutics' relaunch of Thyquidity, an FDA-approved levothyroxine sodium oral solution formulated for patients who have difficulty swallowing tablets, including pediatric patients. The ready-to-use liquid formulation is indicated as replacement therapy for primary, secondary and tertiary congenital or acquired hypothyroidism.
