Olympus signs exclusive global distribution deal with MacroLux Medical for single-use urology products

Olympus Corporation, a global medical technology company dedicated to making lives healthier, safer and more fulfilling, has entered into an exclusive worldwide distribution agreement with MacroLux Medical Technology Co., Ltd. to provide a range of single-use urology products, including cystoscopes, ureteroscopes and suction access sheaths.

These devices are designed to access and visualise the bladder and urinary tract, supporting the diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as kidney stones. The partnership enhances Olympus’s comprehensive urology portfolio, which already includes solutions for kidney and bladder stone management as well as non-muscular invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) detection and treatment, and positions the company to offer both reusable and single-use flexible scopes, rigid and semi-rigid scopes, advanced lithotripsy technologies and gold-standard cancer detection solutions.

Senior Olympus executives emphasised that integrating MacroLux’s innovative single-use technologies into its offering provides physicians with greater flexibility, confidence in visualisation and surgical precision, ultimately improving patient care.

MacroLux highlighted that the collaboration creates strong synergies by combining expertise, accelerating market introduction of disposable endoscopes and access sheath solutions, and driving continued product innovation and R&D to deliver clinical value worldwide. Distribution under the agreement will cover the USA, Canada, multiple European countries including the UK, Ireland, Austria, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg,

Norway, Denmark, Switzerland and Sweden, as well as Asia-Pacific markets such as Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea. The MacroLux portfolio features advanced product specifications including a 140° field of view, distal tip angulation ranges of up to 275°, outer diameter options as small as 7.5Fr, AutoHold thumb lever control technology and multiple sheath sizes with negative pressure connection to support stone removal.

Olympus reiterated its commitment to partnering with healthcare professionals to provide innovative, minimally invasive solutions that elevate standards of care and improve patient outcomes across targeted disease areas.
