Pandorum Partners with Nucelion Therapeutics to Manufacture Exosome-Based Ocular Therapy for APAC

Pandorum Technologies, a clinical-stage regenerative medicine company, has entered into a strategic manufacturing collaboration with Nucelion Therapeutics, the contract research, development and manufacturing organisation (CRDMO) arm of Bharat Biotech, to support the production of its exosome-based ocular disease therapy for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

As part of the agreement, Nucelion Therapeutics will provide end-to-end manufacturing support, including process scale-up, GMP-compliant production and quality control of pharmaceutical-grade exosomes derived from clinical-grade mesenchymal stem cells. The collaboration is aimed at strengthening Pandorum’s regional manufacturing capabilities while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements across key APAC markets.

Pandorum’s proprietary exosome platform is designed to modulate intercellular signalling pathways to restore tissue function, enabling disease-modifying therapies for ocular conditions such as ocular surface injury, inflammatory corneal diseases, Stevens–Johnson syndrome and neurotrophic keratitis. Beyond ophthalmology, the company is also exploring the broader application of its exosome technology across indications involving inflammation, vascular dysfunction and fibrosis affecting multiple organ systems.

Commenting on the partnership, Dr Tuhin Bhowmick, co-founder and chief executive officer of Pandorum Technologies, said the collaboration would help establish a robust and scalable manufacturing foundation as the company advances its clinical programmes. Raghu Malapaka, chief business officer at Nucelion Therapeutics, said the partnership leverages advanced biologics manufacturing platforms and stringent quality systems to support the production of complex therapies for patients across the APAC region.

The collaboration underscores India’s growing role in advanced biologics manufacturing and highlights the importance of strategic partnerships in accelerating the development and delivery of innovative regenerative medicine therapies.
