In a major boost to India’s biopharmaceutical manufacturing landscape, Pune-based startup PharmNXT Biotech has acquired Ireland-based Defined Tubing Routing (DTR), a globally recognised innovator in advanced bioprocess tubing solutions.
The strategic acquisition gives PharmNXT direct access to cutting-edge technology in single-use systems, significantly enhancing its ability to deliver customised, high-compliance solutions for pharmaceutical and biopharma clients.
DTR’s modular tubing systems, designed to handle bioprocess volumes ranging from 20?L to 500?L with custom spans up to 2.9 metres, will now be manufactured and deployed through PharmNXT. These systems are increasingly used in biopharma manufacturing to support single-use technology setups, offering safer, more efficient tubing management by clearly defining flow paths and reducing trip hazards.
“This is a defining moment for the Indian biopharma sector,” said Sachin Joshi, Founder and Managing Director, PharmNXT. “DTR’s innovative systems allow better routing of single-use tubing in pharmaceutical facilities, reducing errors and improving facility aesthetics. With this acquisition, we’re set to bring a next-generation portfolio of tubing management solutions to global clients.”
The acquisition aligns with the growing demand for resilient, de-risked global supply chains, reinforcing India’s position as a strategic partner—not just a backup hub—in global biotech infrastructure.
