The 8th edition of REFCOLD India is all set to unveil in Delhi from 18-20 September, 2025. The expo is a collaboration between the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) and Informa Markets in India, featuring over 200 exhibitors and attracting more than 10,000 professionals from diverse sectors.
Recognised as a ‘sunrise sector,’ the cold chain industry's significance is critical to India's evolving economy. North India, a hub for agricultural and industrial production, plays a pivotal role in this expansion with its abundant production of fruits, vegetables, dairy and meat. The rise of organised food delivery services in major cities alongside the growth of e-commerce platforms has accelerated demand for modern cold storage facilities. Effective cold chain solutions are essential to reduce post-harvest losses and meet market demands across the region.
This year's event will host top brands such as Copeland, Daikin, Danfoss, Carrier Transicold, Rinac and Luve to attract professionals from diverse sectors including pharmaceuticals, logistics, healthcare, etc. The event will feature international participation with delegations from Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Middle East and Kenya, creating avenues for cross-border collaboration.
Supported by prestigious associations, including the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), the National Centre for Cold-chain Development (NCCD) and the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), the event serves as a hub for knowledge exchange and international collaboration.
REFCOLD India 2025 will feature specialised platforms such as the innovation zone, demo zone, product launch pad, celebrating the next generation of engineers through a global student poster competition and outdoor displays, spotlighting next-generation technologies across multiple refrigeration applications.
Knowledge sessions including the India Cold Chain Conclave 4.0, INDEE 3.0, the IIR Seminar and the Industry Leaders Conclave will convene policymakers, experts and innovators to discuss efficiency, innovation and climate-resilient practices. Topics will include natural refrigerants, national policies for the cold chain sector and sustainable technologies. Speakers include Dr Yosr Allouche from IIR, Asheesh Fotedar from NCCD, Ashish Rakheja fom AEON, Lt Cdr Krishna Lokanadham from Danfoss India and Jayanta Kumar Das from ISHRAE.
Commenting on the announcement, Ashish Gupta, Director, Standard Refrigeration and Convenor, REFCOLD INDIA 2025, said, "The refrigeration industry is experiencing explosive growth driven by evolving demands, value chain advancements and increasing industrial and societal needs. With vast untapped potential in the cold chain vertical, the sector is embracing future innovations focused on energy transitions, efficiency, next-generation refrigerants and workforce development—all aimed at eliminating waste across food and pharmaceutical supply chains. India's refrigeration landscape is transforming through heat pump technology, strengthened pharmaceutical compliance enhanced food chain management and the last-mile delivery solutions. REFCOLD 2025 will serve as the definitive platform breaking down silos between government, industry leaders, manufacturers and investors to build future readiness through innovation, collaboration and recognition."
The prestigious REFCOLD India Copeland Awards 2025 will celebrate excellence in the industry, with categories including Sustainable Cold Chain Products, Cold Chain Impact Awards and Special Jury Awards for Innovation.
Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director (MD), Informa Markets in India, said, "India's cold chain market is undergoing remarkable transformation, set to grow from USD 10.5 billion in 2024 to USD 74.5 billion by 2033, driven by pharmaceutical, agricultural and food processing demands alongside strategic expansion into tier-II and tier-III cities. REFCOLD India 2025 will catalyse industry advancement by uniting key stakeholders, showcasing innovations that address critical challenges like high costs and infrastructure gaps, while leveraging opportunities created by policies such as the National Logistics Policy 2022. By connecting technology providers with end-users, REFCOLD is actively building the resilient and sustainable cold chain networks essential for India's emergence as a global temperature-controlled logistics hub."
Launched in 2018, REFCOLD India has been hosted in Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Kolkata. With its debut in New Delhi in 2025, the event is set to reaffirm its status as South Asia's largest and most influential cold chain event, driving growth, innovation and global collaboration for the sector.
