Pharmacy Council of India has directed existing pharmacy institutions that missed earlier deadlines to submit their Standard Inspection Format (SIF) for the 2026–27 academic session by February 27, after reopening its online portal.
The regulator said the portal has been reopened specifically for institutions that failed to upload the SIF during three earlier windows in 2025. Colleges have been advised to complete submissions well before the deadline to avoid potential delays caused by heavy portal traffic.
The reopening follows a favourable order from the Supreme Court of India, which granted additional time for filing SIFs for existing colleges. Acting on the court’s directive, the Council formally extended the submission timeline and urged institutions to comply within the stipulated period.
Separately, the Council reiterated its revised approval framework for pharmacy institutions, effective from the 2026–27 academic year. Under the updated system, institutions may register and submit statutory documents throughout the year. Once documentation is found satisfactory, they are permitted to file the SIF along with the prescribed compliance formats.
Applications submitted before November 1 of the preceding year will be processed for the upcoming academic session, while submissions made on or after that date will be considered for the following cycle.
As per the revised academic calendar, the session will begin on August 1, with August 15 set as the final date for admissions against vacant seats.
