Roquette, a company in plant-based ingredients and pharmaceutical excipients, announced an agreement to acquire IFF Pharma Solutions, a producer of excipients for oral dosage solutions worldwide. 

The merger of Roquette and IFF Pharma Solutions will serve to rebalance Roquette's portfolio around the pillars of Health and Nutrition, expanding its pharma product range and accelerating its growth course. 

Headquartered in New York, USA, IFF Pharma Solutions boasts revenues of approximately USD 1 billion, operates 10 research and development and/or production sites globally and employs around 1,100 individuals. With an extensive range of high-quality products, established brands, and a diverse client base spanning major pharmaceutical, food, and nutraceutical companies worldwide, IFF Pharma Solutions is recognized as a leader in the excipients market.

For Roquette, the acquisition represents a transformative strategic move, strengthening its position in the lucrative excipients market with strong growth potential. Furthermore, it enhances Roquette's presence in the United States and significantly expands its formulation capabilities and drug delivery research and development initiatives. This strategic alignment positions Roquette as the pharmaceutical industry's preferred partner for the development of innovative drug delivery solutions, aimed at addressing current and future customer needs and enhancing patient outcomes.

The transaction between Roquette and IFF targets closure in the first half of 2025, subject to regulatory clearance and fulfillment of customary closing conditions.
