Rusan Healthcare Launches APOSAN 3ml Pen for Advanced Parkinson's Treatment in India

Rusan Healthcare, the marketing and distribution arm of Rusan Pharma, has launched the APOSAN 3ml Pen, a multi-dose delivery device for administering apomorphine hydrochloride, designed to treat motor fluctuations or ‘ON-OFF’ episodes in patients with Parkinson’s disease.

The launch marks an expansion of Rusan’s APOSAN portfolio, which previously introduced apomorphine injections in India in 2018. The company now offers a complete range of apomorphine formats, including 2ml injections, 3ml pre-filled cartridges with a pen device and 5ml solutions for infusion pumps, catering to varied clinical needs from rapid symptom relief to sustained control.

Parkinson’s disease affects an estimated 10–11.7 million people globally, with India accounting for a significant share. Recent data published in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry highlights a rising trend in early-onset Parkinson’s disease, signalling the need for improved awareness, early diagnosis and accessible treatment options.

The APOSAN 3ml Pen features a multi-dose, dial-a-dose mechanism and an enhanced visibility window to enable precise dosing. Its portable and lightweight design supports convenient subcutaneous administration at home, reducing complexity and the risk of dosing errors while enabling patients to manage symptoms more effectively.

The device is supported by the APOSAN HOPE Programme, an initiative aimed at providing structured onboarding, training and continuous support for patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals to optimise therapy outcomes.

Company officials said the launch reflects a broader commitment to advancing Parkinson’s care through accessible, patient-centric innovations, backed by an integrated manufacturing model that ensures quality and supply consistency.
