Santhera Pharmaceuticals has expanded its exclusive distribution agreement with Biomedica for Agamree (vamorolone), extending the partnership to Georgia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan for the treatment of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) in patients aged two years and older.

Biomedica was initially appointed as Santhera's distribution partner for Agamree in October 2025. Under the expanded agreement, the company will oversee the distribution of the therapy across the five additional markets, while Santhera will continue to receive a share of net sales under the existing commercial terms.

According to the companies, approximately 2,000 patients are living with DMD across these newly added countries, where treatment options have largely been limited to conventional corticosteroids. The expanded collaboration is expected to improve access to Agamree, a dissociative steroid developed as an alternative to standard corticosteroid therapy for DMD.

Santhera said the agreement forms part of its broader international commercialisation strategy aimed at expanding access to innovative therapies for patients with rare neuromuscular diseases in underserved markets.

Biomedica, which specializes in commercializing innovative and rare disease therapies across Central and Eastern Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Turkey and Israel, will leverage its regional infrastructure and distribution network to support the rollout of Agamree in the newly added territories.

Agamree is licensed exclusively to Santhera by ReveraGen for worldwide commercialization across all indications. The therapy has been developed for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy and was evaluated in a pivotal clinical study as a potential alternative to conventional corticosteroid treatment.
