OneSource Specialty Pharma Limited has secured approval from the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) for its generic version of Ozempic (semaglutide), enabling the company to begin commercialisation in Saudi Arabia through an exclusive partnership with Hikma Pharmaceuticals. The milestone marks OneSource’s formal entry into one of the region’s largest and fastest-growing GLP-1 therapy markets.

The approval strengthens the collaboration between the two companies, aimed at expanding patient access to affordable, high-quality alternatives amid rising regional demand for GLP-1 medicines. Saudi Arabia represents a key strategic market, and the partnership is designed to leverage both companies’ complementary strengths to accelerate availability across healthcare channels.

Under the agreement, OneSource will manufacture and supply semaglutide from its integrated biologics and drug-device combination facility in Bengaluru. Hikma, the largest pharmaceutical company in the Middle East and North Africa by sales, will lead commercial distribution using its established institutional relationships and regional reach to scale adoption in both public and private sectors.
