Chinese dental technology company Smartee Denti-Technology has announced the global launch of its Smartee Sleep Aligners, a new clear aligner series designed to manage obstructive sleep apnoea hypopnoea syndrome (OSAHS) and primary snoring (PS).

The product line includes two versions — Smartee SA, which focuses on the treatment of OSAHS and PS, and Smartee SA Plus, which treats OSAHS while simultaneously addressing orthodontic concerns. The company said the aligners offer an invisible, comfortable alternative to conventional OSAHS treatment methods, aimed at improving both patient compliance and sleep quality.

The Smartee Sleep Aligners are digitally customised and feature a dual-splint locking system that advances the mandible and distributes occlusal forces to stabilise the jaw. This mandibular repositioning increases the volume of the velopharyngeal and oropharyngeal airways, improving airflow and reducing OSAHS symptoms. The appliance also helps reposition the tongue base, further expanding the pharyngeal airway to minimise obstruction.

Made from a 1 mm-thick dental sheet, the device offers enhanced comfort with minimal foreign body sensation, demonstrating better patient acceptability and wear compliance, according to the company.

Both versions of the Smartee Sleep Aligners are now available for clinicians to order globally through the Smartee Case Management System.
