Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd. (SPARC) has incorporated a new wholly owned subsidiary, Genokine Biotech Ltd., with its registered office in Vadodara, Gujarat.

According to a regulatory filing with the National Stock Exchange, the Certificate of Incorporation was issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on July 5, 2025. 

The decision to set up the subsidiary was approved by SPARC’s Board of Directors in February 2025.

Genokine Biotech has been established with an authorised and subscribed capital of INR 1,00,000, with the share subscription to be made through cash consideration.

The new entity will carry on the business of all types of research and development and other related services, including but not limited to support the development of products.

As a newly established company, Genokine Biotech currently does not have any turnover.

A clinical-stage bio-pharmaceutical company, SPARC aims to advance the availability of treatment options for patients across the world.

In March, SPARC submitted an Investigational New Drug (IND) application to the US FDA for SBO-154, its first antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) for the treatment of advanced solid tumours.

The application follows successful preclinical studies and paves the way for a global Phase 1 dose-escalation and expansion study.

“SBO-154, our first ADC is ready to advance in phase 1 with this IND submission, and this is an important milestone for SPARC as we hope to improve lives of cancer patients globally,” said Anil Raghavan, CEO of SPARC.

SBO-154 is a novel, humanized ADC that targets the SEA domain of MUC1, releasing an antimitotic payload to inhibit tumor cell division. The antibody component was licensed from Biomodifying, a University of Tel Aviv startup.
