Strategic Alliance Targets Faster, High-Yield Biologics Manufacturing

OneCyte and Kemp Proteins have announced a strategic partnership to deliver advanced cell line development solutions for biopharmaceutical companies globally.

The collaboration combines OneCyte’s high-throughput single-cell analysis platform with Kemp Proteins’ molecular engineering expertise, including its machine learning-driven PROTiQ platform. Together, the companies aim to accelerate development timelines, improve yields, and enable efficient expression of complex biologics, including emerging and non-monoclonal antibody formats.

Biopharma companies often face challenges such as lengthy development cycles, low productivity, and high failure rates, particularly with novel therapeutic modalities. This partnership seeks to address these issues by integrating predictive computational design with high-speed experimental validation.

Kemp’s PROTiQ platform evaluates amino acid sequences to identify developability risks and optimize protein design, while OneCyte’s platform rapidly selects high-performing cell clones with superior productivity. The combined workflow enhances efficiency and reduces time-to-clinic.

The offering also includes access to a royalty-free CHO-K1 GS knockout cell line and a transposase-based expression system, enabling flexible development without licensing constraints.

This integrated approach is designed to support evolving therapeutic needs, delivering scalable, high-performance solutions for modern biologics manufacturing.
