Sun Pharmaceutical Industries’ wholly owned subsidiary, Sun Pharma Laboratories Ltd, has approved an investment of INR 3,000 crore to set up a new greenfield formulations manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh. The board cleared the proposal as part of the company’s broader strategy to strengthen and expand its domestic manufacturing capabilities.
This new facility will significantly enhance Sun Pharma’s production footprint in India and support its long-term growth plans. The company had earlier announced its intention to invest INR 3,800 crore in the state during the Madhya Pradesh Investors Summit, with an aim to generate around 2,000 jobs. The current project forms an important part of that commitment.
The announcement has also lifted investor sentiment, with Sun Pharma’s shares showing positive movement following the approval. The expansion is expected to bolster the company’s operational capacity and contribute to India’s pharmaceutical manufacturing ecosystem.
