Sun Pharma Reports Q1FY27 Results

Sun Pharma has reported financials for the first quarter ending June 30, 2026.

The company reported consolidated sales of INR 151,836 million in Q1 FY27, registering a 10.1 percent Year-on-Year (YoY) growth. Global Innovative Medicines sales reached USD 351 million, up 12.8 percent, contributing 21.9 percent of total sales. The company posted Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortisation (EBITDA) of INR 44,177 million, reflecting a 2.7 percent increase, with an EBITDA margin of 28.9 percent. Adjusted net profit rose 3.1 percent YoY to INR 30,894 million, while Research and Development (R&D) investment stood at INR 8,264 million, accounting for 5.4 percent of total sales.

Kirti Ganorkar, Managing Director (MD), Sun Pharma, said, “Our performance during the quarter was driven by strong momentum in India as well as Innovative Medicines, which delivered robust growth across the US and international regions. Recent semaglutide approvals in India, Brazil and South Africa underscore our capabilities in developing complex peptide products for patients globally. Organon shareholders have approved the proposed acquisition by Sun, which is on track to close in early 2027.”

Formulation sales in India were INR 54,749 million, registering a growth of 16 percent. India Formulation sales accounted for 36.1 percent of total consolidated sales.

The company’s market share increased to 8.5 percent from 8.2 percent, as per the Pharmarack MAT June 2026 report.

Formulation sales in the US were USD 427 million, lower by 9.7 percent. Innovative Medicines continued to grow, partially offsetting the decline in generics business. US sales accounted for approximately 26.6 percent of total consolidated sales.

Emerging Markets formulations sales were USD 311 million, up by 4.2 percent and accounted for 19.4 percent of total consolidated sales. Formulation sales in Rest of World markets were USD 218 million and accounted for 13.6 percent of total consolidated sales.

   Sun’s portfolio includes 57 approved NDAs while 13 NDAs await US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval.
