Syntegon's subsidiary, Schoeller-Bleckmann Medizintechnik (SBM), has unveiled the SBM Essential Line, a new series of sterilizers built on 50 years of industry expertise. 

Christian Dallner, SBM's product manager, highlights the standardized basis of the SBM Essential Line, which promises shorter delivery times and competitive prices for pharmaceutical manufacturers. “At the same time, the large selection of sizes and options ensures that every manufacturer finds the right solution for their sterilization loads and applications,” she said. 

Available in twelve different sizes, these sterilizers utilize vacuum-steam (ADV), steam-air mixture (SDR), or combined (SDT) processes to sterilize porous and solid equipment, as well as liquids in containers such as vials, cartridges, or pens. Features like fans, jacket cooling, and internal heat exchangers ensure rapid cooling post-sterilization.

In light of Annex 1, effective from August 2023, the optional air detector module for ADV and SDT sterilizers becomes particularly relevant. This module aids in daily air removal tests or detecting non-condensable gases in the chamber, ensuring compliance with safety standards effortlessly.

Furthermore, additional options such as automatic inline filter sterilization and a high-pathogen program enhance product safety, especially for laboratories handling highly potent substances or producing BSL preparations. This program allows for the safe sterilization of pharmaceutical containers in contact with infectious biological substances.

The SBM Essential Line's software components are customizable, with a new high-performance control system installed by default across all sterilizers. This system, equipped with Win CC visualization, provides a comprehensive display and detailed protocols.

Dallner emphasizes the user-friendly features, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness of the SBM Essential Line sterilizers, citing positive feedback from initial customer interactions. The modular approach of the new series is expected to meet additional industry needs, emphasizing SBM's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
