TESTA Analytical has announced the availability of its high-performance viscometer, now offered to chromatography system manufacturers seeking to enhance their GPC/SEC capabilities.
Integrating a viscometer detector into a GPC/SEC system is a proven method for gaining deeper insight into the physical structure of various macromolecules. However, not all viscometers deliver the same level of performance.
Carlo Dessy, Managing Director of TESTA Analytical, stated, “The GPC/SEC market was originally served with by viscometers from different manufacturers. Today, however, our viscometer is the only detector left available to be design optimised for use with any commercially available GPC/SEC system.”
According to Dessy, the unique design of their viscometer dramatically reduces signal noise, thereby increasing sensitivity by “more than an order of magnitude compared to any other commercially available viscometer.”
“This allows you to work at lower flow rates and detect polymers, proteins, and polysaccharides at lower concentrations and of lower molecular weights, even enabling routine semi micro-GPC/SEC applications. Further to this, no adaptation is necessary to match the number of used GPC/SEC columns, our Viscometer will always return to baseline without the breakthrough inherent in most other designs,” he added.
